
Consisting of independent restaurateurs, hoteliers and marketing professionals, the Marketing Council was formed in 2010 for the purpose of answering two questions: How can FRLA help our members reach their customers? How can FRLA better reach our members?
The Council is tasked with conception and implementation of solutions to help build and grow our members' businesses. These solutions will include – but are not limited to – negotiating member discounts with statewide major media outlets; developing co-op marketing opportunities to stretch members' ad dollars; creating turn-key, low-cost marketing options; and educating members on the wide range of marketing options available to these industries to ensure more effective use of their promotional efforts. In the initial months of the Council, the team hosted the first Marketing Summit, which educated attendees on a variety of social media marketing solutions. This is an active-participation council which meets, at minimum, three times annually in conjunction with the FRLA Board Meetings. Conference calls and events are also held throughout the year, as needed.
